Hey! Yesterday I had the longest day (left my apartment at 7:30 in the morning, as usual, and didn't get home until after 9:00 at night!), but I felt so good by the end! I have a job accompanying the Opera Scenes Program (yes, I actually get paid for playing the piano!!), and I was really nervous to play for one of the groups because the director (Kris) is really strict and tends to get impatient. A girl who has worked with her in the past warned me that Kris always yells at accompanists, and she never likes them, so I was obviously a little worried. But it was awesome! She told me several times throughout the practice that I was doing a great job, and at the end she actually blew me kisses and gave me a hug! She kept thanking me for practicing and for following her so well etc, etc. So that was one highlight of my week!
Another highlight was last Friday when my roommates and I went to see Jason Hewlitt, an impersonator. He was hilarious!! I laughed so hard my cheeks and head hurt afterwards! I also really enjoyed the opening act... a young man from Idaho Falls (and recent alumni of BYU-I) played the piano and sang for us, and he did an amazing job! And it didn't hurt that he was pretty good-looking! :) If you look up Nik Day on youtube you can see him play some of his songs, there are even a couple videos from the night I saw him... he writes really good music!
I love you guys!
PS... can you make comments now? I tried to fix it...
